Tracking the Wendigo (2025)

줄거리 English

A chilling report from rural Canada sparks an investigation by the Canadian Paranormal Society into one of North America's most enduring legends-the Wendigo. The documentary begins with a modern encounter on a lonely backroad, echoing centuries of lore. From the tragic tale of Swift Runner in 1878 to shaman Jack Fiddler's claims of battling Wendigos before his 1907 arrest, the film traces the legend through history and into present-day sightings around Edmonton and the Interior of British Columbia. Exploring Cree and Anishinaabe traditions with investigator and researchers Morgan Knudsen and Chad Lewis, the documentary reveals the Wendigo as both a cultural warning and a symbol of imbalance and colonial sorrow. The journey culminates in a daring field investigation, as Jason Hewlett, Olivier Asselin, and Pete Renn confront the legend in the wilderness where it was last reported. Is the Wendigo a myth-or something far more real? Tracking the Wendigo leaves viewers with unsettling questions and the chilling sense that legends can still walk among us.
