Fifty years ago, on November 20, 1975, with the death of Francisco Franco, Spain embarked on a transition to democracy after nearly four decades of dictatorship. Born on that day, Óscar Martín and Paloma Rodríguez grew up in a changing country, and their personal stories are intertwined with the events that marked this period: the attitude of King Juan Carlos I, who had been placed on the throne by the Caudillo, in favor of the young democracy; the attempted coup d'état of February 23, 1981; the Movida, a cultural revolution that saw the emergence of an alternative and rebellious scene, led by iconic figures such as the director Pedro Almodóvar.
