Story
To cap off a memorable and successful year for the entire Crema community, Club Universitario de Deportes presents "Esta es la 'U'". The film follows the first team in their quest to secure two-time championships during the club's centenary year, while revisiting key milestones from its 100-year history. Featuring previously unseen archival footage, the film invites us to experience this historic journey firsthand through the testimonies of key figures behind the 28th title, as well as former players, journalists, beloved icons, and fans. The list of over one hundred interviewees includes legends such as José Luis "Puma" Carranza, Héctor Chumpitaz, Oswaldo Piazza, Ángel Cappa, Gustavo Grondona, Piero Alva, Carlos Galván, Germán Leguía, and Eduardo Esidio. Their stories and memories honor not only the club's century-long history but also its loyal base de fans, which has stood by the team through both glorious moments and challenging times. It is thanks to their unwavering support and their fight to keep the essence of the 'U' alive that we can say today: we are back. "Esta es la 'U'" is a film for the whole family: for those who saw Lolo Fernández play; for those who admired the team led by Chumpitaz; for those who fell in love with Germán Leguía's game; for those who found inspiration in the fighting spirit of "Puma" Carranza; for those who persevered through adversity; and for those falling in love with the most decorated team in history for the very first time.
