あらすじ English
Written in 456 BC, Agamemnon is considered a foundation of Western Literature. The beautiful translation by British poet laureate Ted Hughes captures themes of arrogance, betrayal, and the thirst for absolute power that transcends over two thousand years. SYNOPSIS Agamemnon returns to his kingdom following the Trojan War. His wife welcomes him with loving arms, but she promptly stabs the King and his concubine to death. Clytemnestra then reveals that she and her lover, Aegisthus, will assume absolute power.
