Gym Rat (2026)

줄거리 English

Gym Rat follows Lonnie Milsap, a fitness obsessed ex-con freshly released from prison and chasing a delusional dream of becoming the next Mr. Olympia. Struggling to rebuild his life, he takes a job selling steroids for a volatile gym owner and spirals deeper into a cycle of drugs, violence, and self destruction. Throughout it all, Lonnie is haunted by his lifelong idol, Lou Ferrigno, the international bodybuilding champion turned pop culture icon whose larger than life physique and screen presence made him a household name. Ferrigno's legacy shaped Lonnie's identity from childhood, and that fixation has never let go. Ferrigno appears throughout the film as both himself and as a projection of the man Lonnie desperately believes he can become, the unstoppable, transformed version of himself he's been chasing his entire life. A budding romance offers a ray of hope, but Lonnie's obsession with winning and clashes with his bigoted bully of a boss threaten to derail everything, and we're left to wonder if he'll take that hard look in the mirror before it's too late.
